Hot houses like the Bergianska Botanical Gardens provide the heat and humidity needed for these tropical gems to thrive, in the cold northern climes of Sweden. Exotic, vivid and powerful colours provide for some fantastic and abstract floral images. And its great to just get out of the cold for a few hours to dream away, of much warmer climes in more exotic places.

Blue Lotus Lily - Bursting Forth (Nymphaea Caerulea)
Nymphaea Caerulea, also known as the Blue Egyptian Water Lily, Sacred Lily, Blue Lotus Lily, Blue Water Lily, Lotus Lily, Water Lily or Sacred Blue Lily, is a Water Lily of the genus Nymphaea.
Taken at the Bergianska Botanical Gardens Stockholm Sweden.
When it’s really cold in spring, the Victoria Hot House is the place to be, it’s not large but has a water feature containing a multitude of water plants to shoot. One of my absolute favourites are the Water Lillie’s, the Blue Lotus Lillie’s are the most common and for good reason, the vibrant colours and varying forms are somewhat hypnotic.
